David Byrne joined Anna Calvi on stage in Halifax and Cardiff for performances of their collaborative track “Strange Weather,” according to NME.
Calvi supported Byrne at both outdoor dates on his ongoing “Who Is The Sky?” tour, opening at the Piece Hall in Halifax on July 18 and at Cardiff Castle on July 26. On each night, she brought Byrne out to perform the song they first recorded together in 2014 for her covers EP, also titled “Strange Weather.”
After the Halifax show, Calvi posted on Instagram that it was an honor to share the stage with Byrne and said it was inspiring to perform the song with him again.
Byrne is touring in support of his latest solo album, “Who Is The Sky?,” which arrived last September as his first studio record since 2018’s “American Utopia.” The album includes contributions from Hayley Williams, St. Vincent and Tom Skinner of The Smile.
