Kimberly Van Der Beek is remembering her late husband James Van Der Beek on a meaningful family milestone. On Aug. 1, she shared an Instagram post marking what would have been the couple’s 16th wedding anniversary, according to E! News.
In her message, Kimberly wrote that she felt like the luckiest woman in the world when she married James 16 years ago. She added that the “beauty of this marriage continues to unfold everyday” through their children, Olivia, Joshua, Annabel, Emilia, Gwendolyn and Jeremiah.
She also said she still feels James’ presence and believes he continues to guide their family. Kimberly said she is “eternally grateful” for that ongoing connection.
James Van Der Beek died Feb. 11 after a yearslong battle with colorectal cancer. According to the statement shared to the couple’s Instagram accounts at the time, he passed peacefully and faced his final days with courage, faith and grace.
Before his death, James and Kimberly renewed their vows during a bedside service at their Texas home. Kimberly later described the ceremony to People as simple, beautiful and moving.
