Fall market season has arrived in Maricopa, and that means the Copa Farmers Market has moved back outdoors, according to InMaricopa.
The market is now being held in the Lowe’s parking lot at 44400 W. Honeycutt Ave. It runs every Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and will stay there through next summer.
Organizer Kevin Okuma said the first outdoor market in months went well, even with some wind. He said vendors adjusted their tents to the weather, and many shoppers seemed happy to be back outside.
Okuma also said pet owners were glad to return to an outdoor setting where they could bring their animals with them. He said familiar faces were back, too.
Among the vendors expected in the coming weeks are Ibarra Farms, which will offer hydroponics and specialty greens, and Sea Hunt Seafood, which will sell wild-caught Alaskan salmon through the fall. Okuma said he has also lifted the waiting list for bakers, bread makers and salsa producers, but produce vendors are still needed.
