A Colorado woman got an unexpected backyard visitor when a black bear was caught on camera taking a dip in a kiddie pool to cool off from the summer heat, according to UPI Odd News.
Katie Cole shared the video from her home in the Steamboat Springs area, where she had filled the pool with water on her deck. She said the pool is usually there for her dogs, but she was glad the bear could use it as well.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife warned earlier in the summer that bear sightings could increase because of drought conditions. The agency said it had recorded 98 bear sightings as of late April, compared with a total of 127 statewide for all of 2025.
