CMAT says she will not perform any live music in 2027

CMAT has said she will not perform any live music in 2027 after spending six years touring almost nonstop, according to NME.

Speaking on the Sidetracked podcast with Annie MacManus, the Irish singer-songwriter said the pace of her schedule had left her feeling close to burnout. She said she was “literally losing [her] mind” and explained that even short breaks in recent years had usually been used to make new music.

CMAT later confirmed that her decision would extend beyond live shows and include a full step back from work commitments, including recording new material, during 2027. She said she had managed to secure a month off in October this year after reducing an appearance at Austin City Limits to one week.

The announcement comes during a busy period for the artist, who has been playing some of her biggest shows to date in support of her third album, Euro-Country. Her remaining 2026 dates include appearances at festivals and venues such as Primavera Sound Sao Paolo, Electric Picnic, Rock en Seine, End Of The Road and Lollapalooza.
