Ed O’Brien says Radiohead’s growing younger audience is one reason the band has been keeping live plans tightly limited, according to NME. In a new interview with the Los Angeles Times, he said the band’s biggest streaming demographic is people ages 16 to 24.
Radiohead returned to the stage in the UK and Europe last year for their first live dates together since 2018. The run included 20 arena shows across five cities, among them four nights at London’s O2 Arena.
O’Brien previously said the band planned to play just 20 shows per year, one continent at a time, starting again in 2027 and beyond. He explained that Radiohead want to give everything at each concert and avoid reaching the point where they are performing without enough energy.
In the new interview, he said fans should take the 20-show limit “with a pinch of salt,” but added that the songs are powerful and that last year’s concerts were emotionally draining. O’Brien also said there has not yet been any discussion of another Radiohead album.
