Tyler Duckworth, who first appeared on Real World: Key West before becoming a two-time winner on MTV’s The Challenge, has died at 44, according to his mother, Joni Duckworth.
Joni shared on Facebook on Aug. 13 that her son died earlier in the week and said she would post service information once arrangements are made. She also said the cause of death has not yet been determined.
According to the Grand Forks Police Department, Tyler was found in a bathroom at his apartment in North Dakota. Police said there were no signs of foul play and that the death does not appear suspicious. Toxicology results are still pending.
Tyler made his reality TV debut in 2006 on Real World and later became known for memorable moments on The Challenge, including winning Cutthroat in 2010 and Rivals in 2011. Fellow MTV personalities Johnny Bananas, Wes Bergmann and Derrick Kosinski shared tributes following the news.
