Central Arizona College launches online elementary education degree

Maricopa-area students interested in teaching now have a local option that does not require commuting for upper-division classes. Central Arizona College is accepting applications for its fall and spring cohorts in the Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education program, according to InMaricopa.

The four-year program is designed for students who already have an associate degree in elementary education. It prepares graduates to pursue Arizona teacher certification for grades K-8.

According to the college, the upper-division coursework can be completed fully online through live virtual classes. Students will also complete 120 hours of field experience before a 12-week student teaching assignment.

Graduates of the program will be eligible to apply for an Arizona Standard Teacher Certificate in Elementary Education for grades K-8, along with Structured English Immersion and K-5 Literacy endorsements. More information is available at centralaz.edu/bsee or by emailing [email protected].
