Henry Rollins has announced a new memoir titled Bait Dog Boy, which will look back on his challenging childhood and early life, according to NME.
The book focuses on Rollins’ upbringing in Washington, D.C., where he moved between his parents and encountered abusive and unreliable adults. It will also cover how he met Ian MacKaye and how their shared discovery of punk rock shaped both of their lives.
According to the publishers, the memoir tells the story of Rollins coming of age in an environment that seemed set up to break him. They said the book follows him from a volatile childhood through adolescence and into the moment punk became a lifeline.
Bait Dog Boy is set to be published on March 2 next year in the US by Random House and in the UK by Little, Brown. Rollins has previously self-published memoirs, including Get In The Van: On The Road With Black Flag, which later won a Grammy for its spoken-word version.
