Caleb Shomo and Fleur Shomo have jointly filed for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court, according to court records obtained by multiple outlets and reported by E! News. The filing comes nearly two months after Caleb, the frontman of Beartooth, publicly came out as gay.
Fleur, who married Caleb in 2012, confirmed their split in an Instagram post on May 23. She described their nearly 14 years of marriage as a meaningful time filled with love, adventure and fun, and said she was already missing her husband and their life together.
Caleb addressed speculation about his personal life the same day, writing on Instagram that he is “a proudly gay man.” In his post, he said he had been working through those feelings for some time and had decided to speak openly to avoid further harm to the people he loves.
He also said that years of burying his feelings contributed to his struggles, and that getting sober helped him begin reconciling with his sexuality. Caleb encouraged others facing similar challenges to be honest with themselves and to do the difficult work of self-acceptance.
Fleur later said the past few months had been disorienting and painful, but added that she would always want to love, protect and support Caleb.
