Britney Spears responded to attention surrounding a video that appeared to show her standing through the moonroof of an SUV on the 101 Freeway in Los Angeles, writing on social media, “Nothing is what it seems,” according to Rolling Stone.
The footage, which surfaced earlier this week, appeared to show Spears rising through the moonroof while the vehicle traveled on the highway. At one point, the car reportedly continued at about 45 miles per hour before exiting the freeway and pulling into a gas station.
On Instagram, Spears shared a screenshot of the incident and explained her side of the moment. She said that what people saw was only “two seconds of insanity” and added that the rest of her reality is not being shown.
The highway episode follows other recent public attention around Spears. In May, she was reported to have been acting erratically and carrying a knife during a night out, though her representative said the situation was being blown out of proportion. In April, Spears pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor wet reckless charge after a March arrest on a suspected DUI charge.
