A bicyclist died Sunday night after a crash on State Route 347 south of Maricopa, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
DPS said the collision happened around 8:22 p.m. on southbound SR 347 near Enos Road, close to milepost 169. Officials said the bicyclist was riding in the far left lane when a pickup truck struck them in that same lane.
The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. DPS did not immediately release the cyclist’s identity.
According to DPS, the pickup driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. The driver also was not identified.
