Arie Luyendyk Jr. has undergone a second vasectomy, according to E! News, two years after reversing the first procedure. He shared the news in an Aug. 14 Instagram Story, writing, “Today’s a good day to get a vasectomy.”
The former Bachelor said this time he was going through the procedure without his wife, Lauren Burnham, in the room. Luyendyk Jr. said the first experience felt traumatic and that Burnham being there felt strange.
He also said he found a new doctor who uses laughing gas, and he hoped the process would be smoother than before. Luyendyk Jr. added that, compared with childbirth, the procedure is not something he can complain about.
Luyendyk Jr. and Burnham, who married in 2019 after meeting on his season of The Bachelor, share four children: daughter Alessi, twins Senna and Lux, and baby girl Livvy. He had originally gotten a vasectomy after feeling overwhelmed with child care, later reversed it, and then decided the couple would stop expanding their family after their fourth child was born.
