Aaron Rodgers says his wife, Brittani, helped influence his decision to play one more season in the NFL. According to E! News, Rodgers told reporters at a July 28 press conference that he had been considering retirement, but Brittani encouraged him to give it one more year.
Rodgers said he originally thought last season might be his last, then changed course after Mike McCarthy was hired. He said the decision came together after talking with Brittani, who told him he could try one more year and see how it goes.
The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback had previously said on May 20 that this season would be his final one, telling reporters, “Yes, this is it.” E! News noted that Rodgers, now 42, has also kept his marriage and personal life private since marrying Brittani in 2025.
Rodgers also spoke earlier this year about wanting to keep his wife out of the public eye. On The Pat McAfee Show, he said Brittani did not sign up to be a celebrity and that he prefers to keep his personal life private.
