E! News reports that A'ja Wilson and Bam Adebayo have kept their relationship mostly private, even as their careers have placed them in the spotlight. Wilson, the Las Vegas Aces star, said Adebayo helps her stay grounded in small but meaningful ways, like opening car doors when she feels overstimulated or holding her hand when her anxiety rises.
Adebayo, who plays for the Miami Heat, said the relationship began with friendship in 2021 and grew gradually. He said they did not rush into things and instead eased into the relationship while keeping it out of public view.
The pair have still shown support for each other at major moments. Wilson attended an event where Adebayo received a key to Miami-Dade County, and he later wore her signature Nikes during a game. He also attended the University of South Carolina ceremony where her No. 22 jersey was retired.
Both athletes have described each other as strong partners who help push them to be better. Wilson has called Adebayo her life partner and said starting a family is a dream, while Adebayo said they want to make things easier for each other and succeed together.
