97-year-old British woman breaks her own wing-walking world record

A 97-year-old woman from Britain has broken her own Guinness World Record for wing walking, according to UPI Odd News.

Betty Bromage of Cheltenham completed the stunt on Tuesday at RFC Rendcomb Airfield in Cirencester, where she went wing-walking at 97 years and 127 days old. The outing gave her the title of oldest female wing walker once again, topping the record she set in 2022 at age 93.

Bromage told the BBC that she likes staying active because she would otherwise get bored. She said she cannot drive and does not see very well, which can be frustrating, but she wants to do the things she still can.

According to UPI Odd News, Bromage suffered a stroke last year that continues to affect her speech. Her latest wing walk also raised money for the stroke unit at Cheltenham General Hospital, where she was treated.
