Firefighters in Florida helped rescue more than a dozen sea turtle hatchlings after they ended up trapped in storm drains near a condominium, according to UPI Odd News.
The Bonita Springs Fire District said on social media that the baby turtles fell into a pair of storm drains near the Mediterra Beach Club.
Fire district spokeswoman Nicole Hornberger said firefighters and personnel from Turtle Times, Inc. worked together to safely remove the 14 hatchlings from the drains.
The turtles were placed into buckets and taken along to continue their journey to the Gulf of Mexico, Hornberger told the Naples Daily News.
