Tom Schwartz is responding after a tabloid headline described him as “unrecognizable” in a paparazzi photo taken in Los Angeles. The E! News report says the article also commented on the recent closure of Schwartz & Sandy’s, the Hollywood bar Schwartz co-owned with Tom Sandoval.
Schwartz reacted on his Instagram Story on July 23, posting a screenshot of the story and joking, “You better sleep with one eye open @DailyMail,” followed by a sobbing emoji, according to E! News. His girlfriend, Kiana Carroll, also came to his defense with a Boomerang video of Schwartz by a pool and the caption, “It was a bad angle guys.”
The report also noted that Schwartz and Sandoval’s friendship went through a rough period as Schwartz & Sandy’s was winding down, following the Scandoval cheating scandal and changes to the Vanderpump Rules cast. Even so, Schwartz said last year on The Valley: After Show that Sandoval is “family” and that he still loves him, while acknowledging he has had lingering frustrations.
Schwartz has also said he and ex-wife Katie Maloney are on good terms. In a recent E! digital series interview, he said they communicate well, remain friends, and are both happy for each other.
