The Strokes play 'Lonely In The Future' live in full for first time in Tokyo

The Strokes performed “Lonely In The Future” live in full for the first time during their headline set at Summer Sonic Tokyo, according to NME.

The New York band opened their 18-song set at ZOZO Marine Stadium in Chiba on August 14 with the track. While they had previously worked it into stage jams, this was the first time they played the song in its complete form.

“Lonely In The Future” is the third song on Reality Awaits, the group’s new album released last month. It is The Strokes’ first LP in six years and follows 2020’s The New Abnormal.

During the set, the band also played “Going Shopping” and “Dine N’Dash” from the new album, along with older songs including “Reptilia,” “Last Nite,” and “Someday.” The Strokes are set to play the Osaka stop of Summer Sonic today before continuing their Reality Awaits world tour.
