Two new food businesses are preparing to open in Maricopa later this month inside the former Barro’s Pizza building at 44600 W. Smith-Enke Road, according to InMaricopa. The space will house Taco Spot and Antojitos LindaMar.
Taco Spot, a Chandler-based franchise focused on birria, is expected to bring a menu that includes birria dishes, tacos and seafood. Franchise owner Emmanuel Flores said he is aiming for an end-of-August opening, though no exact date has been set.
Next door, Flores’ fiancée, Cristina Ruiz, will operate Antojitos LindaMar. The shop, whose name means “little cravings” in Spanish, will offer desserts, ice cream and fruit.
Flores said the restaurant space is getting a full interior renovation, including new appliances, a different layout and updated fixtures. He also said the décor will reflect Maricopa’s history with horse-themed murals.
Flores said the grand opening is planned as a celebration with a party, giveaways, prizes and plenty of food. He added that this will be the second Taco Spot location for the couple, who already operate one in Gilbert.
