Eric Stonestreet says Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce pulled off something unusual at their wedding: a sense of normalcy. In a new interview with People, the Modern Family actor said the couple created a space where they could enjoy a private night, even with security and a large crowd around them.
Stonestreet attended the ceremony at Madison Square Garden in New York City with his wife, Lindsay Schweitzer. He said he and his wife tried to be respectful and keep a low profile before and after the event, though he said they were proud to have been invited once details began circulating.
According to Stonestreet, he was included because he knows Swift a little and presented her with Favorite Country Female Artist at the American Music Awards in 2012. He also said he has followed Kelce’s career over the years and was happy for both of them when they began dating.
Stonestreet said his favorite part was how the couple gave guests an experience that felt personal, and he also pointed to the charitable donations connected to the wedding as a meaningful gesture. Swift and Kelce were married July 3 in New York City in front of about 1,000 guests, with Swift’s brother Austin serving as her man of honor and Jason Kelce as best man, according to the report.
