Roger Waters shares reimagined ‘Comfortably Numb’ with Palestinian singer Mona Miari

Roger Waters has released a “reimagined” version of Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb” with Palestinian singer Mona Miari, according to NME.

The nine-minute track, titled “Comfortably Numb Re-Imagined,” adds new English and Arabic lyrics and includes video footage filmed in Gaza. The original refrain has been changed from “I have become comfortably numb” to “I will never become comfortably numb.”

Waters and Miari also added a new section called “Hind’s Lullaby,” which Miari wrote after the story of Hind Rajab, the six-year-old Palestinian girl killed with members of her family in Gaza in January 2024.

Proceeds from the release will be donated to the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund. Waters told WIRED he hopes listeners in the future will see the song as “prophetic,” while Miari said she hopes it will stand as a reminder of truth, resistance and the call for freedom.
