Riley Hawk is celebrating a major personal milestone: one year sober. The 33-year-old son of Tony Hawk and Cindy Dunbar shared the news on July 26 in an Instagram Story, according to E! News.
“1 year sober today,” he wrote, adding that he received a “special delivery” from his wife, Frances Bean Cobain. Hawk also posted a photo of roses and two boxes of praline chocolates that she sent him. The couple married in 2023.
Hawk has spoken before about his drinking and his decision to stop. On the Living Proof New York podcast in September 2024, he described himself as a “functioning alcoholic” and said drinking was a constant part of the subculture he was around.
He also said he could see where his life was heading if he kept going, especially after watching friends follow destructive paths. Hawk said he used about six ketamine infusion therapy sessions to help him quit alcohol, with his father taking him to the appointments. In addition to his sobriety journey, Hawk and Cobain welcomed their son Ronin in September 2024.
