Louisa Levy, the creator of Off Campus, is denying a rumor that Ella Bright earned less than Belmont Cameli during the show’s first season, according to E! News.
In a July 10 Instagram comment on a clip from the In the Vault podcast, Levy told critics to “check your sources” and said the figures being shared were “far from correct.” The podcast had claimed in a June 14 clip that Cameli was paid $30,000 per episode while Bright made $20,000, but the hosts did not provide sourcing for those numbers.
Levy also noted that pay equity is an important issue in the industry. “As a female showrunner, I fight for gender pay parity in my cast,” she wrote.
Off Campus, based on Elle Kennedy’s book series, stars Bright as Hannah Wells and Cameli as Garrett Graham. Levy also confirmed in a May interview with Entertainment Weekly that Hannah and Garrett will remain part of season two, even though their romance will no longer be the main focus.
