Octo Octa and Eris Drew, who are both creative and life partners, are set to release their first proper album together under the name Alchemical Sisters. According to Pitchfork, the self-titled LP will arrive on October 18 via Interdimensional Transmissions.
The album was recorded in the bedroom of their New Hampshire cabin, which they turned into a home studio for the project. In press materials, they described the record as “psychedelic chaos, acid rollers, and big beat,” shaped by hardware instruments and their connection to love, touch, rhythm, and spiritual fire.
Octo Octa, whose real name is Maya Bouldry-Morrison, released her solo album Sigils for Survival earlier this year. She and Eris Drew also recently played a back-to-back set at Amsterdam’s Dekmantel festival.
The duo are also scheduled to perform at Making Time ∞ in Philadelphia next month. The album’s tracklist includes songs such as “This Is How it Should Be Done,” “Double Acid,” and “Why Not Dream.”
