Ne-Yo sued by woman who says his dog attacked her during package delivery

Grammy-winning R&B singer Ne-Yo is facing a negligence lawsuit from a woman who says his dog attacked her while she was delivering a package to his home in Georgia, according to Rolling Stone.

The plaintiff, Dominique Bridgett, says the incident happened on July 12, 2025, at Ne-Yo’s home in Alpharetta, outside Atlanta. In the lawsuit, Bridgett alleges the dog lunged at her and bit her leg while she was making the delivery.

Bridgett claims Ne-Yo, whose legal name is Shaffer Chimere Smith, knew the dog had shown aggressive behavior before but did not properly restrain it as required by leash and animal-control laws. She says she was not doing anything to provoke the animal.

The lawsuit says Bridgett has already spent $9,039.50 on medical treatment and may face additional pain, suffering, and a reduced ability to enjoy life. Filed in Fulton County, the complaint seeks a jury trial. A representative for Smith did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone’s request for comment.
