Megadeth announce final UK and European tour with Black Label Society and Testament

Megadeth have announced what they say will be their final UK and European tour, calling it a “true celebration of metal,” according to NME. The thrash metal band will be joined by Black Label Society and Testament on the run.

The tour, titled Breakout: Hibernation Of The Nations, begins in Belfast on March 9 next year and continues across the UK and mainland Europe before ending in Lisbon, Portugal, on April 13. It includes 24 arena dates.

Frontman Dave Mustaine said the band sees the run as a celebration of the four decades they have spent making music together. He told NME that it is “not about saying goodbye,” but about honoring the memories built with fans in each city.

Megadeth announced last year that they planned to end their career with a final album and last tour. The band’s seventeenth and final studio album arrived earlier this year, previewed by the singles “Tipping Point,” “I Don’t Care” and “Let There Be Shred.”

UK pre-sale tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. Thursday, August 6, with general sale starting at 10 a.m. Friday, August 7, according to NME.
