A Maryland woman says she owes a $50,000 Pick 5 lottery prize to her deceased brother, according to UPI Odd News.
The St. Mary’s County resident told Maryland Lottery officials she found a five-digit code connected to her brother’s services after he died a few years ago and began using those numbers in Pick 5 drawings.
She bought the winning ticket for the June 24 midday drawing at Accokeek Gas & Go on Bryan Point Road in Prince George’s County.
The woman said she was at home on her couch when she checked the results and saw she had won. She plans to use the money to pay bills and take a trip to Jamaica with her son and best friend.
