Mary Beth Barone says Netflix tried a very unusual way to help promote her comedy special Galaxy Brain. During her July 29 appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Barone joked that the streamer suggested a “PR relationship” with someone from one of its properties.
According to E! News, Barone said Netflix initially offered to help market the special after she asked for a marketing budget. She claimed the team told her to choose a man from a Netflix project, and she jokingly said the “chef from Emily in Paris” was available.
Barone then joked that the arrangements were handled for her, including a courtside date at a Knicks game and a trip to the Cannes Film Festival. She added that the relationship ended after a “three-month contract.”
E! News noted that Barone and Lucas Bravo were seen at an NBA game in March and also appeared to be in France around the Cannes Film Festival in May, though they were not photographed together at the same event. Bravo has also previously spoken about keeping his dating life professional when it comes to coworkers.
