Mariah Carey has marked the 30th anniversary of Daydream with a new expanded edition of the album, according to Rolling Stone. The release, titled Daydream: 30th Anniversary Edition, is available digitally now through Columbia Records and Legacy Recordings.
The set includes unreleased bonus tracks, rare demos, live performances and remixes. Carey said on social media that the anniversary project includes several career firsts, including the first time she has agreed to share her private writing sessions for “I Am Free” and “Melt Away.”
Daydream first arrived on Oct. 3, 1995 as Carey’s fifth studio album. It became a major turning point in her sound by blending R&B, hip-hop and pop, and helped lay the groundwork for her later album Butterfly.
The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and produced hits including “Fantasy,” “Always Be My Baby” and “One Sweet Day,” her collaboration with Boyz II Men. According to Rolling Stone, Daydream has since been certified 11-times multi-platinum.
