Lou Koller, frontman of Sick of It All, dies after cancer battle

Lou Koller, the lead singer of the hardcore band Sick of It All, has died after battling adenocarcinoma cancer, according to Rolling Stone.

The band shared the news on Friday in a social media post, saying they were overwhelmed by the loss. They said this year would have marked the group’s 40th anniversary.

In their statement, Koller’s bandmates praised his energy, dedication and friendship, describing him as an iconic frontman who lifted fans’ spirits at shows around the world. They also thanked people who donated to his medical fund during his illness.

Koller had told fans in June 2024 that doctors found a tumor in his esophagus that had spread into his stomach, and that he would need to step away from touring for treatment. Sick of It All was formed in Queens in 1986 by Lou Koller, his brother Pete Koller and drummer Armand Majidi.
