Kurt Sutter is weighing in on Legends, the new Sons of Anarchy limited series that was developed without him. In a video posted Aug. 20, the creator said he is not part of the project and said that is how it should be.
According to E! News, Sutter said the new series is less about the original characters and more about the legacy of the show. He noted that many people helped build that legacy over the years.
The spinoff comes from Sons star Charlie Hunnam and Glee’s Jonathan Groff, and Sutter said Hunnam asked for his blessing while pitching the idea to the network. He added that there is no bad blood between him and Hunnam or FX executives.
Sutter said he fully supports the project and even praised the script, saying it is well done. He also pointed out that cast members including Katey Sagal, Kim Coates and Ron Perlman are expected to return for the new chapter.
