Kaylee Hottle, the Atlanta-born actress known for her role in the Godzilla film franchise, died following a crash in Frederick County, Maryland, according to authorities. She was 18.
The Frederick County Sheriff's Office said deputies and fire and rescue crews responded just before 3 a.m. Tuesday to a crash on Windsor Road in Ijamsville.
Investigators said a 1995 Honda Accord driven by a 19-year-old Frederick man left the right side of the two-lane road and hit a culvert. Authorities believe excessive speed may have been a factor in the crash.
The driver was taken to a local hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening, and another passenger declined treatment at the scene. Hottle, the third passenger, was taken to a trauma center and later died, according to the sheriff's office.
Hottle, who was recently living in Kyle, Texas, was best known for portraying Jia in “Godzilla vs. Kong” and “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.”
