Kayla Nicole says she no longer believes in the idea of a perfect love story. The podcaster and model, who dated Travis Kelce for five years before his relationship with Taylor Swift, shared her thoughts in an interview published July 13, according to E! News.
“Love is hard” and requires daily effort, Nicole said, adding that she does not need perfection, only something real. She also told iHeartRadio’s Two Personal podcast on May 28 that dating has been difficult because people often lack intention and do not match the energy she gives.
Nicole said emotional intelligence is especially important to her and that she needs to feel safe in a relationship. On an April 18 episode of her Pre-Game podcast, she said her past experiences have made it hard to enter new relationships without expecting cheating to be a possibility.
She has also said she is more private about her love life these days. In an April 3 episode, she joked that she is like “John Cena now with men,” and said she does not want to publicly date again until she is sure someone is her long-term partner.
