KATSEYE has confirmed that Sophia Laforteza will sit out the group’s upcoming Wildworld Tour dates in Europe and the U.K., according to Billboard.
The update was shared on the group’s Instagram Stories on Sunday and also posted on Weverse. In the message, signed by HYBE and Geffen Records, KATSEYE said Sophia is focusing on her well-being and is being given support and resources.
The tour dates she will miss are scheduled for Sept. 1 through Sept. 17. The group asked fans to understand that the health and long-term well-being of its artists remains the top priority and said more updates will be shared when available.
Sophia’s hiatus was first announced on Aug. 7, when HYBE x Geffen said she would step away from promotional activities to focus on her mental health and wellness. According to the company, she had been advised by medical professionals to take an extended period of rest and ongoing care.
Last week, Sophia’s mother, actress Carla Guevara-Laforteza, told Vogue Philippines that her daughter has been spending time on low-key activities while recovering. KATSEYE, which recently earned its first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with WILD, continued promoting its music this month with the remaining members.
