Billboard's Friday Music Guide is back with a roundup of the week's most notable new releases, featuring music expected to get heavy attention on playlists and beyond.
Among the featured projects is Sam Smith's new album, Hazel Eyes, which includes the track “Constant Companion,” where Smith moves between a lower register and a more familiar soaring vocal style. The song builds with percussion, harmonies, keys, acoustic guitar and strings, according to Billboard.
The guide also highlights Stella Lefty's debut full-length, Long Way Home. Billboard notes that Lefty co-wrote all 14 songs on the album, which follows her May EP and is produced by Joe Reeves.
Also included are Weezer's 20th album, Weezer (Gold Album), Jorja Smith's third album, Thrasher, Brandon Flowers' first solo album in 11 years, and Brennan Wedl's self-titled debut on ANTI-. Billboard says each release brings its own distinct sound, from pop-rock and dance music to country-western and alt-country influences.
