Jessica Simpson will be the subject of a new documentary headed to Netflix in 2027, according to Rolling Stone. The project will be directed by BAFTA-nominated filmmaker Joe Pearlman.
Pearlman recently directed the Robbie Williams documentary and has also worked on Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now, Mourinho, and Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts.
Netflix said the untitled documentary will take a deep look at Simpson’s life and career. The streamer noted that it has been more than 20 years since Simpson appeared in the reality series Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica.
In that time, Simpson has sold more than 20 million records worldwide, built a major celebrity licensing brand, and published the bestselling memoir Open Book. After a 15-year break from original music, she returned in 2025 with two Nashville Canyon EPs.
