Jennifer Garner says she doesn’t apologize to her children for staying busy with work. In an appearance on Today With Jenna & Friends on July 13, the actress said her view is that “work is part of life,” according to E! News.
Garner, who shares Violet, 20, Seraphina, 17, and Samuel, 14, with ex-husband Ben Affleck, said she gets a lot of joy from her career. She described herself as someone who genuinely likes to work and said she has learned to accept being a mom with a full schedule.
She said that when her children were younger, juggling work and parenting felt harder, but now that they are older, they appreciate seeing that work can be rewarding. Garner also said she wants people to let go of guilt about their jobs because, in her view, it helps no one.
In earlier interviews, Garner has said she thanks her kids for being understanding but believes working hard, making mistakes, and learning along the way are all part of life. She has also said she and Affleck aim to keep their co-parenting relationship cordial for the sake of their children.
