Jason Bateman is looking back on a chaotic night in Monaco that ended with police arresting him, according to E! News. The actor said the incident happened before he got sober.
On the July 20 episode of his SmartLess podcast, Bateman said he was arrested for being “drunk and disorderly” while wearing a leopard outfit after a night out in the European country. He said he had just come from the casinos, had been drinking cheap Champagne, and was carrying casino chips.
Bateman, 57, joked that he “just got rocked” that night. He did not say when the arrest took place.
He has spoken often about his sobriety and has said he is grateful his wilder days were mostly behind him by the early 2000s. In earlier interviews, Bateman said he was fortunate to grow up before social media and camera phones made it harder to avoid public scrutiny.
