Four women interviewed by the BBC, CBS News' partner network, have accused actor and Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto of criminal sexual conduct when they were teenagers.
According to the BBC, one woman said Leto sexually assaulted her in a motel when she was 17. Another said she had sex with him in California when she was also 17, which could be considered statutory rape under California law.
A third woman told the BBC that Leto threatened her with sexual assault when she was 19 while alone with him in a hotel room. A fourth alleged that he groomed her as a teenager and at one point suggested they should have sex. Other women said they received sexual phone calls or lewd comments from him.
The BBC said 10 women in total spoke for its documentary, and that it corroborated parts of some accounts with friends, family members, photos and messages. CBS News said it had not independently verified the allegations and had not received an immediate response from Leto's representatives.
Leto has denied wrongdoing in the past, and no criminal charges have been filed against him. The BBC also said it reviewed more than 120 separate allegations about his behavior toward women, while Leto is scheduled to tour Europe and the U.K. next year with Thirty Seconds to Mars.
