Fenne Lily has released a new song called “Thank You Sorry,” the latest preview from her upcoming album Win Win, which is set for release this fall, according to Stereogum.
The British-born, Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter said the album was written in the aftermath of a painful breakup. In a press release, Lily said she was broken up with over the phone on Independence Day and told “everything but the truth.”
Lily described the song as her version of what happened in the relationship, saying she became “an unwanted guest” and felt like she meant nothing to the other person. She added that she made something out of being nothing to someone.
The new track follows the earlier single “Uh Huh.” Stereogum also notes that the video for “Thank You Sorry,” directed by Sage Szkabarnicki-Stuart, visually references the artwork for Lily’s album cover.
