A fan has said Olivia Rodrigo quietly helped pay for her final semester of college, according to NME.
Content creator Jamie Causey, who recently graduated from the University of Alabama, said Rodrigo first noticed one of her videos and left a birthday message. Causey later posted about being a first-generation college student and struggling with tuition costs during her final semester.
Causey said the singer then reached out privately and offered to help with the financial burden. In the message she shared, Rodrigo asked whether she could send money through Venmo for tuition support, and Causey said the total came to $5,000.
Causey said she chose not to talk publicly about the gesture until after she finished school because she did not want it to become a spectacle. In a new video, she thanked Rodrigo for the kindness and said the support meant a great deal to her.
