Erling Haaland is starting the new Premier League season with a very different look. According to E! News, the Manchester City striker cut off his long hair and debuted a buzzcut after years of wearing his signature man bun.
Haaland shared photos of the change on Instagram on Aug. 23, writing, “Short hair don’t care.” He also said he had been thinking about making the change for a while, but waited until the season was about to begin so he could have a fresh start.
The haircut quickly drew reactions from around the soccer world. English player Jack Grealish joked in a video shared to YouTube that Haaland looked “about 10 years old,” while retired star Zlatan Ibrahimovic had a more direct response, asking, “What the f--k is this? You lost a bet or what?”
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola also reacted, telling Haaland he was lucky to have hair at all. Haaland said he had no regrets about the new style, even though he admitted he was a little nervous before making the cut.
