Diane Warren Writes Title Song for Mark Wahlberg Film 'By Any Means'

Diane Warren has unveiled her latest film song, “By Any Means,” written for the upcoming movie of the same name, according to Billboard. The soulful midtempo ballad brings together David Kushner and The Isley Brothers.

Warren said she wanted the song to reflect the spirit of the film, which centers on people who push past the rules to do what they believe is necessary. She called the pairing of an artist from the era and one from today “pure magic.”

“By Any Means” is part of the soundtrack for the film, which is directed by Elegance Bratton and written by Sascha Penn. The movie, inspired by a true story and set in the 1960s, follows a young Black FBI agent sent to Mississippi to investigate killings targeting civil rights leaders.

The soundtrack, By Any Means, The Album, is set for release on Sept. 18 through AB Records/The Orchard and includes two versions of the song. The single will be available on streaming platforms Aug. 21, and the music video is scheduled to arrive on Aug. 28. The film is set for theatrical release on Sept. 4 through Paramount Pictures.
