A video from a state legislative building in Brazil shows workers ushering out an unexpected pair of visitors: capybaras, according to UPI Odd News.
The footage from the Legislative Assembly of Mato Grosso in Cuiabá shows the two capybaras, the world’s largest rodents, calmly moving through the reception area while deputies were preparing for a vote elsewhere in the building.
Security turnstiles stopped the animals from going farther inside. The video then shows staff helping guide the capybaras back out, where they were joined by a third capybara.
Employees said the animals are occasionally seen around the area because the building is near Parque das Águas, which has a native capybara population. Capybaras have also previously been seen using the fountain in front of the building and crossing nearby streets, and no one was hurt and no damage was reported during the July 30 visit.
