Perez Hilton is still in the hospital after a troubling TikTok livestream on Aug. 4, and his family says his condition is serious but stable, according to E! News.
In a statement posted Aug. 8, the family said Hilton experienced significant blood loss and suffered additional injuries that will require surgery in the coming days. They said his recovery will be a long process and noted that he was able to spend time with his mother and sister the day before.
The family also confirmed that Hilton remains hospitalized under Florida’s Baker Act. They said his communication has been very limited and has been restricted to immediate family, medical staff, and others directly involved in his care.
Police were sent to Hilton’s Miami home on the night of Aug. 4 after he appeared to be covered in blood during a TikTok livestream while holding what looked like a knife. Authorities later said he was safely recovered and taken by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a hospital for medical attention.
Hilton’s family and representative have asked the public and media to respect his privacy, saying his children are safe and being cared for by immediate family.
