Maricopa’s planned pedestrian bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad tracks near State Route 347 is now expected to open to the public toward the end of spring 2027, the city told InMaricopa.
The project is meant to give pedestrians and bicyclists a safer way to cross the tracks. It also includes elevators to help provide access for people with mobility limitations.
Construction is still moving forward. According to the city, the contractor has finished installing the elevator shafts, bridge columns and bridge piers over the railroad tracks.
Crews are now working on forming and pouring the concrete for the bridge deck and side walls. The city said ADOT is managing the project and is the best source for questions about the schedule.
The bridge has been in development for years, and the city previously said construction would begin in 2025 after funding was secured for the crossing. The latest estimate remains subject to how construction progresses.
