Kathy Griffin says Dave Grohl ignored her when they crossed paths at an airport, and she believes the encounter may have been tied to the fallout from her 2017 Donald Trump protest video, according to NME.
On her podcast Talk Your Head Off, Griffin said she and Grohl used to be “kind of friendly” before the incident. She described seeing him at JFK Airport near a newsstand and said he acted as if he did not recognize her.
Griffin also said the two were seated close together on the same plane, but she decided not to approach him because she thought it could become awkward if his behavior was connected to the Trump-head controversy.
In 2017, Griffin faced heavy criticism after posting a protest video showing her holding a fake severed head resembling Donald Trump. She later apologized and lost hosting jobs and endorsements. Grohl has not publicly responded to Griffin’s account.
