Ghost have announced a new concert film, 2 Big To Rig, which will screen in cinemas and IMAX worldwide next month, according to NME.
The feature captures the masked metal band’s ‘Skeletour’ world tour, which ended earlier this year, and follows their 2024 film Rite Here Rite Now. It was filmed on 16mm across two sold-out shows at Mexico City’s Palacio de los Deportes last autumn.
According to the announcement, the movie will take viewers into the crowd of nearly 40,000 people who attended the performances and will include behind-the-scenes moments showing how the band’s theatrical production came together. It will also feature the only professionally filmed footage of frontman Papa V Perpetua and the band from the phone-free tour.
2 Big To Rig is scheduled to arrive in cinemas and IMAX on Wednesday, August 26, for a limited time. Tickets go on sale next Thursday, July 23.
The film’s title refers to Ghost ending the ‘Skeletour’ in February after 70 shows across North America, the UK and Europe. It is also intended for fans outside those regions and for those who missed one of the planned Mexico City concerts after the first night was cancelled because of illness, according to NME.
