Brandon Flowers says he’s considering quitting music

Brandon Flowers has said he is thinking about stepping away from music, according to NME. The Killers frontman made the comments in a new interview with The Times, saying he has been reflecting on how long he wants to continue as an artist.

Flowers said he is “really going through it right now,” describing a period of uncertainty about what music means to him and why he is still doing it. He also said that after every tour, he gets sick, and compared his own feelings with the long career of Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger.

His remarks come as he prepares to release his third solo album, Thrasher, on August 21. Flowers has already shared two songs from the record, “Plans” and “Paradise,” and the album was recorded in Nashville with longtime collaborators Shawn Everett and Jonathan Rado, along with several other musicians.

According to NME, Thrasher draws from Flowers’ childhood in Nephi, Utah, and explores personal memories and family influences, including the country music his father played while driving him around. Flowers is also set to take the album on tour in the UK, Ireland and North America later this year, with a stop at London’s Royal Albert Hall included in the run.
